I am an artist and ecological designer working 25 years with cities, ecotourist lodges and golf courses with my company Waterflowers.
I was consulting in the golf industry and discovered a process for cleaning pesticide tanks with bacteria. I was fascinated with the potential of how we can work with nature to clean the environment. If we can digest poison, what else can be cleaned from the water?
My first SLURPITS were for wash pads on golf courses, where the equipment is cleaned daily, releasing a stream of oil and pesticide residue into the watershed. This success with the technology created the "Earth Serpent" protecting the City of Cambridge water supply...then two giant sea serpents "Slurpy" and "Sylvie", in Salem harbor that was the start for the SLURPITS that today clean docks, drains protecting our threatened waterways.
Thank you for considering SLURPITS. Terry Bastian
